in addition to my last post, over the last few hours i've been trying out a few things...

i have found i can boot into mint, with nvdi and my CD2 card working BUT only in ST-HIGH compatability mode using the REDIRECT.PRG app

If i disable the slct_dev.prg in the auto folder and enable redirect.prg running first in the boot order it will boot into mint/xaaes/terradesk, but of course only in 640x400x2
