Hi.
I'm trying to program a program to run another program.

I have created this front end on my computer
for almost all games that are on my computer.

However I come across a small problem
when it comes to STEem and Hatari.

To make these Atari games run as soon as the emulator started
it looked like I had to put all games onto disk images
but some I couldn't set as auto programs
and some are larger than a regular disk.

With the help of someone I programmed something in AHCC
that would load another program/game from the harddrive.

It seemed to work when running it normally
but when I put it into the C:\AUTO folder
alot of the games it tried to load (reading paths and filenames from a TXT)
did not seem to load properly.

The only hint I got was from Nishiran.
It said "Please insert disk 1 and press a key."

This sounds like it can't find its home folder
before the GEM/Desktop is loaded.

I'll post the code here: [pastebin.com]

If anyone can help
it would be muchly appreciated.

Ballerburg Remake for iOS (no replies)

Atari-ST gamers who played on the ST in the 80s / early 90s may very well know the cult classic Ballerburg (so-called mother of artillery games, like Worms or Angry Birds), there is a almost 1:1 remake out for a while for iOS, this time not only in German, but also in English

Two castles, a mountain in between, cannons, wind and limited resources and inhabitants which have to be managed.

Ballerburg proves that simple game concepts are also the best.Beat the enemy kingdoms castle by hitting its well guarded king. For each cannon shoot, angle and amount of used gunpowder has to be adjusted wisely. Changing wind and the fact, that cannonballs and gunpowder are limited resources make the battle even more interesting. As the own inhabitants are paying taxes, this money can be used to rebuild cannons and walls or buy gunpowder, cannons and derricks. But don't tax them too much, otherwise your people might join your opponent.

Hello everybody,

I wanted to make some advertisement for an browser project for the more modern Atari machines.
The main target is to provide an reliable, modern browser for the Atari Coldfire machines (acp.atari.org),
but also for CT6x and Atari Hades (etc.) users this project is intersting.
The browser that is used for this target is NetSurf (www.netsurf-browser.org).

This is what the website says about netSurf:
"Small as a mouse, fast as a cheetah and available for free. NetSurf is a multi-platform web browser for RISC OS, UNIX-like platforms (including Linux) and more.

Whether you want to check your webmail, read the news or post to discussion forums, NetSurf is your lightweight gateway to the world wide web. Actively developed, NetSurf is continually evolving and improving.

Written in C, this award winning open source project features its own layout engine. It is licensed under GPL version 2."

Netsurf offers several GUI frontends, some of them are very easy to port.
For the PoC the SDL Version of NetSurf was used.

Currently this project mainly passed the PoC phase successfully.
Altough some people reported networking errors ( which can be avoided by using an proxy), this is an simple but working release.

Haven't got SSL running successfully yet, but the browser & network layer supports that.
It also supports HTML 4.0 and it's strongly going toward HTML5 and JavaScript ( altough the road to java script is long).

The next project goals are the following steps:
1 get rid of the networking problems (low priority, as it works with an proxy and it does not
trigger with my current setup.
2 successfully use SSL websites with the SDL version
3 create an port that better integrates into GEM, this requires an complete port not just some
adjustments to an current version, so there will be alot code to do ...

Heres my project page with further details:
[nic-nac-project.org]

Everyone is invited to get into the development / testing / documentation etc. !

Thanks for reading,
This season we play many old classics like Switchblade 2, Super Cars 2, Lethal Xcess, Arkanoid, Wizball and Turrican 2.
Can a drive that was pulled out of a non-working Megafile be put into a SH204 case to see if the data can be recovered? If so, is it a pretty simple process or is there a specific series of steps that need to be followed? Are there any other options that I have?
